Alleghe Lake

Lèch de Alie

The Alleghe Lake is one of the most famous attractions of the Cordevole Valley, both in summer and in winter. It’s a suggestive stretch of water set among the most impressive peaks of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the summer on this lake you can sail with rowing boats and pedal boats, which can be rented on site, and here fishing is allowed, regulated by the laws of the 5 Agordino Fishing Basin.

In winter the ice covers partially its surface with a wonderful mantle. Until the seventies, when the current ice rink was built, the lake was used as an outdoor stadium by the local hockey team: the Alleghe Hockey.

A very relaxing walk around the lake can be carried out in all seasons: it’s a route of about 5 km, flat, mostly on a paved road and for a short stretch on a dirt road. The view of Alleghe with the Civetta in the background and with the swans is wonderful and suggestive.

Another popular excursion that can be made connects the Alleghe Lake to the famous village of Bramezza, passing through Saviner di Calloneghe.
