Laste

Laste is a very characteristic locality of the Rocca Pietore’s Area with an enviable and panoramic position: from here you can contemplate the Civetta and Pelmo in the background and then the Col di Lana, the Pore and the Tofane.

The meadows here are mowed with care by the inhabitants and you can admire the larch woods and the famous monoliths located in Ronch.

This village is located at the foot of the Migogn, a fascinating and unspoiled mountain from whose top you can admire the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites There are a lot of small hamlets, such as Moè and Saviner di Laste, that are located between 1.200 m and 1.500 m above the sea level and are dominated by the Col da Gejia, the hill where is the church built in 1863 and dedicated to Saint Gottardo. There is also Digonera , the northernmost inhabited area of the municipality of Rocca Pietore and in a strategic position for excursions and ski areas.

Laste offers the opportunity to stay in contact with nature in every season. In summer it is possible to explore the places that were battlefields during the First World War, regenerate body and spirit by climbing towards Mount Migogn along the spectacular Alta Via delle Creste .
Col de le Casiere is also the ideal destination for a relaxing walk, with a wonderful 360 degree view and the chance to visit one of the most popular alpine huts in the Dolomites.

Furthermore, climbing and via ferrata enthusiasts certainly cannot miss the monoliths of Ronch , huge limestone boulders of the Marmolada of the most varied shapes that create a real city of rock.

In winter Laste turns into a paradise for snowshoe lovers: around the monoliths, in the larch woods and along the pastures there are some paths that offer the infinite magic of snow and silence. A route not to be missed is “ Laste Ciaspamoon “ , a 5 km ring between woods and snow-covered meadows that leads to the discovery of the hamlets of Laste in their winter guise, a pleasant excursion for everyone.
