One of the most popular summer excursion is the Val Ombretta footpath from Malga Ciapela to Malga Ombretta and Rifugio Falier, at the foot of the famous south wall of Mount Marmolada.
The first part of this ski mountaineering excursion is along a flat road in the forest in Malga Ciapela, than the track starts to increase its difference in altitude and also its level.
Once arrived at Ombretta farmhouse, you will enter a valley that finishes at Rifugio Falier.
The excursion ends at the nearby Dal Bianco bivouac located a few meters upstream of the pass.
