Strudel is one of the most iconic desserts of the whole Dolomites, it is easy to prepare but it’s very tasty! It could be made with two different bases: made with dough or with shortbread. Normally it is accompained by vanilla sauce.
- Puff Pastry or Shortbread
- Thin cutted apples
- Pine nuts
- Lemon Juice
- Brown sugar
- Ground cinnamon
- 1 egg yolk
Once prepared the filling with apple, soften sultanas, breadcrumb, pine nuts, cinnamon and brown sugar, you can put all of this over the puff pastry or shortbread.
Than you can cover the all the filling with puff pastry paying attention to close all the corners.
Before cooking, remember to brush Strudel with and egg yolk.
Finally, when the cooking is over, you can cover strudel with icing sugar and serve with vanilla sauce.
