Classical via ferrata ascent, not to difficult in normal conditions, which allows to reach the higest peak of Dolomites, Punta Penia. It is also possible to cross Marmolada glacier, but in this case you need to have with you the proper equipment.
Punta Penia is the easiest route to reach the top of Mount Marmolada climbing on its west ridge.
This historical via ferrata extends in a high altitude wild landscape, but doesn’t have any particular technical difficulty.
The descent could be crossing Marmolada glacier or following the return path. This excursion must be carefully pianified because of its length and difference in altitude, better with the support of an Alpine Guide.
