The route starts from the village of Malga Ciapela where you can decide if you want to follow a footpath or a forestry road.
Franzedaz Valley, at 1980 meters of altitude, is an alpine pasture surrounded by Mount Fop, Cime d’Auta and the south wall of Mount Marmolada in the heart of the Dolomites.
Once arrived at Malga Franzedaz farmhouse, you can also continue your excursion in order to reach Forca Rossa Pass at 2490 meters of altitude in an open side.
There is also the possibility of continuing towards the Fuciade Refuge towards the San Pellegrino Pass. This itinerary is practicable, snow permitting, from December to March. You have also the chance to make a ring route going up through the footpath till Malga Franzedaz and descent following the forestry road.

The Forca Rossa Pass can also be reached from the San Pellegrino Pass starting from the parking lot near the Baita Flora Alpina.
