In the geographical heart of the Unesco Dolomites<\/a>, Rocca Pietore<\/a> land (La R\u00f2cia in ladin language) at 1143 meters of altitude has about 1200 inhabitants and has a surface of about 76 kilometers. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This land is full of villages and ancient hamlets, each with it original history and natural landscape: from the legendary village of Bramezza<\/a>, to<\/span><\/span><\/span> the amazing Laste<\/a>, from the chief village Rocca Pietore<\/a> or Malga Ciapela<\/a> passing through Palue<\/a> and Sottoguda<\/a>, member of prestigious club \u201cOne<\/span><\/span><\/span> of the most beautiful little village in Italy\u201d since 2016. Worth also a visit Calloneghe<\/a> area, with a wonderful view on Alleghe Lake<\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Rocca Pietore<\/span><\/span><\/span> M<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>armolada municipality has in total 25 small villages to discover!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The land became famous thanks to its unique and pristine natural elements, the place to live a perfect mountain experience among<\/span><\/span><\/span> forests, streams, mountain lakes and some of the majestic Dolomites peaks. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Rocca Pietore area offers a large variety of sport, history, culture and well-being experiences.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Marmolada ski <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>area, part od Dolomiti Superski<\/a> ski carousel, is the perfect place to ski in winter but has also plenty of other<\/span><\/span><\/span> activities like ski mountaineering<\/a>, cross-country ski<\/a>, freeride<\/a> and snowshoeing<\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

An important example is surely the history of the Rocca Pietore Magnificent Community, an original kind of self-government enjoyed<\/span><\/span><\/span> from the Lombard period until 1806, and then the First World War. Some terrible fights, in fact,<\/span><\/span><\/span> have been fighted in the Dolomites between rocks and ice. A war which signs can still be observed today. A part of this important<\/span><\/span><\/span> history is handed down to people through war finds and items inside Marmolada Great War Museum<\/a> at the second<\/span><\/span><\/span> Marmolada cable car station in Serauta.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Rocca Pietore maintains its ladin culture through the local language and some traditions that<\/span><\/span><\/span> have been handed down between generations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
