To remember the two creators of the museum and on the occasion of the 100th anniversary since the Great War, in 2015 the Great War Museum was renovated, expanded and made more interactive.<\/p>\n\n<p>The museum is dedicated today to the life of soldiers, without any distinctions among the different parts involved, because the aim is to remember the life of those men, who fighting each other, began to fight also against a more merciless enemy: nature.<\/p>\n\n<p>Through videos, texts, simulators and images, in the museum are summarised the historical events that brought to the beginning of WWI, but there is also an interesting analysis of the life in the barracks and in the trenches experienced by soldiers in the Dolomites and particularly on Marmolada. You cannot miss the section dedicated to the City of Ice, a unique defensive fortress constituted by 12 km of tunnels dug inside Marmolada\u2019s glacier by Austrian-Hungarian soldiers.<\/p>\n\n<p>The museum is open every day on the same days and with the same timetable of Marmolada #MoveToTheTop cable car. The entrance is included in the ticket of the cable car and the museum is fully accessible also to people with special needs.<\/p>\n\n<p>Since January 2020, we installed also a new system of audio-guides. To have this audio-guide, you have just to download the \u201cGeochip\u201d app on your smartphone, turn on the Bluetooth and so you will have access to all the contents about the geological and social history of Marmolada.
