Bramezza is a fascinating enchanted hamlet that amazes the visitor with its charm of yesteryear. It is based on the orographic right of the Cordevole torrent, at the foot of Mount Sasso Bianco and overlooking the Alleghe Lake and the majestic north-west face of Mount Civetta.
You can reach this hamlet on foot in about an hour and a half on a forest road or by mountain bike starting from Santa Maria delle Grazie. A path immersed in the woods, which will give you pure emotions: the rediscovery of nature, the silent tranquility of the Dolomites, the sound of the woods under your footsteps and the balsamic scent of fir and larch trees.

Bramezza is located at an altitude of 1450 meters and has a particular architecture of the houses and fireplaces, which vaguely recall oriental styles.
There are various versions on the origin of these architectural elements: the most suggestive is certainly linked to the presence of Turkish prisoners of the Serenissima Republic of Venice captured following the battle of Lepanto in 1571. After the battle, fought between the Serenissima and the Ottoman Empire, many of Venice’s Turkish prisoners were confined to this area of the Dolomites as slaves to be employed in the production of coal and timber. In this period the Agordino area was rich in smelting furnaces (eg Forno di Caprile) aimed at working tools and iron weapons to be sent to Venice.
There is no evidence today to support this thesis, which however continues to impress the guests who visit this place suspended in time.
